Physical Therapist (PT) - Temporary Position

Location: Humansville, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care.
• Develop and implement appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Administer treatments including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly; evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services as needed.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
• Document all required information accurately in electronic systems and maintain patient records per policy.
• Record treatment minutes in compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Attend facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
• Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
• Supervise and support physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students.
• Adhere to APTA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience (higher requirement if discrepancies found).
• Specialty Experience: LTC (Long-Term Care) or Rehab experience required.
• Licensure: Missouri State License required (Compact license allowed).
• New Graduates: Accepted if they have completed Level II experience (not just Level I observation).
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.

Work Environment & Productivity

• Typical workday is 8 hours with productivity expectations:

  • Evaluating therapists: 88-90% productivity
  • Assistants: 90-93% productivity
• Treatment times:

  • PT/OT: ~1 hour for Medicare B patients, 30-35 minutes for Medicare A and Managed Care patients.
  • Caseload: 7-12 patients per day, fewer for evaluating therapists with evaluations scheduled.
• Group therapy is allowed, which supports productivity.
• Each therapist typically has a dedicated device for documentation.

This position is ideal for PTs with LTC or rehab experience seeking a temporary role in Missouri, including new graduates with appropriate clinical experience.
