IR/Vascular Tech - Marshfield, Wisconsin

Job Details

• Specialty: IR/Vascular Tech
• Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
• Shift:

  • 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus call, rotating day off
  • Option to consider 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Call Requirements:

  • Weeknight and weekend call rotation (approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends, Friday through Monday)
  • Holiday call may be required
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
• Orientation: 2-3 full days of training/shadowing with buddy call; no call first week, second week on call with buddy, then solo

Department & Work Environment

• 7 procedure rooms total (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular)
• Average 20+ cases per day across all rooms
• Common procedures:

  • IR: Port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, G-tube placements, PICC & central line placements, neuro procedures (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations)
  • Vascular: Femoral-popliteal bypass, AAA repair, carotid procedures, EVAR, angiograms, and more
• Staffing:

  • Cath Lab: 1 RN, 3 Techs
  • EP: 3-4 person team
  • IR: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia supports neuro cases
  • STEMI Call Team: 1 RN, 3 Techs

Job Duties

• Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
• Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Pull supplies, set up sterile tables
• Scrub in and assist physicians with procedures including device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment
• Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
• Clean, restock, and room turnover
• Sheath removals

Requirements

• Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of IR experience (specific experience may vary depending on assignment)
• EMR/Equipment: Experience with Merge and Cerner systems
• Dress Code: Provided scrubs; own scrub caps allowed
• Floating: Hybrid floating for vascular cases

• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• If previously worked at this facility, must have a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
