MRI Tech Job Opportunity

Location: Rancho Mirage, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 9 weeks (61 days ≈ 9 weeks)

Job Description

• Work closely with Radiologists and physicians to triage exams and follow MRI protocols.
• Ensure all exams are sent to PACS with proper documentation and patient notes.
• Properly screen MRI patients and all persons entering the MRI suite.
• Perform MRI procedures of high technical quality using all equipment proficiently.
• Obtain pertinent medical information from patients to perform appropriate procedures.
• Assist Radiologists during procedures and perform additional diagnostic procedures as ordered.
• Maintain cleanliness and adequate stock of Radiology equipment and rooms.
• Provide patient support tailored to age, explain procedures, answer questions, and maximize patient comfort.
• Document patient condition changes accurately in the computer system.
• Prepare patients for procedures including positive identification and verification of physician orders.
• Adhere to safety guidelines for working in magnetic fields and practice isolation techniques per policy.
• May be required to work different shifts to cover PTO, sick leave, or scheduling gaps.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Perform receptionist and assistant duties as needed.

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • ARRT certification (Required)
  • BLS certification (Required)
  • Venipuncture certification (Preferred)
  • MRI certification and CRT if performing CT scans (Preferred)

• Experience:

  • At least 2 years of radiological experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in one or more imaging modalities: CT, MRI, or Special Procedures.
  • Knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to patients of all ages (neonates to geriatric).

• Skills:

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
  • Ability to create a welcoming, empathetic, and respectful environment.
  • Effective time management and task prioritization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the ACR contrast media manual.
  • Familiarity with the latest MRI Safe Practices Policies and ability to identify MRI Safe, Unsafe, and Conditional equipment and implants.
