Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Must float within 5 hospitals within skillset (locations include Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and Camden)
  • Block scheduling NOT allowed
  • Required to pass a Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing (2 attempts allowed; must be taken on a PC, not iOS devices)
  • Scrubs provided by hospital
  • Every Other Week (EOW) schedule
  • Must work 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • Prior travel experience is not required but first-time travelers are accepted (though not preferred)
  • Active New Jersey nursing license required
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Experience circulating and scrubbing for C-sections
  • EPIC electronic medical record experience
  • Experience working with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio; may be assigned to higher volume facilities

Testing & Certification Requirements

  • Dysrhythmia competency test (pass/fail) within 72 hours of contract signing
  • ACLS, BLS, NRP certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of contract start
  • Additional certifications as applicable: PALS, NIH Stroke Certification, CEUs for ER and Pediatric ER nurses
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing within 1 year of start
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Compliance & Documentation

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government issued photo ID
  • E-Verify documentation
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • State license verification and NURSYS verification
  • Physical exam within last 12 months
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (required before first shift)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific requirements for positive responders)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or declination)
    • Varicella
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen (without THC panel) within 6 months of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31
  • Eye exam with visual acuity of 20/40 or better
  • Latex questionnaire

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within the last 2 years
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
  • Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start date (New Jersey candidates)

Notes

  • Candidates must be prepared to float between multiple hospital locations within the system.
  • Failure to complete required testing or documentation on time will result in contract cancellation.
  • Prior travel experience is not mandatory but preferred.
  • This position does not allow block scheduling and requires holiday coverage.
