Travel RN ICU Position - Hazard, Kentucky

Job Details

  • Specialty: RN ICU

  • Schedule: 36/48 hours, 1:2 patient ratio
  • Start Date: Immediate (start date on job is start date needed)
  • Residency Requirement: Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
  • EMR System: Meditech

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years ICU/MICU experience
  • Must have BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
  • Kentucky or compact nursing license required
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Orientation

  • Orientation sessions held bi-weekly

Key Requirements & Credentials

  • Licenses:
    • Kentucky or compact license for KY facilities
    • Nursys verification within 30 days of start
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA only, front and back of certificate if not electronic)
    • ACLS (required for all RNs except Psych and OR)
    • NIH Certification (required for RN specialties except OR and Psych)
  • Vaccinations & Health:
    • COVID-19 vaccine proof or approved exemption
    • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
    • Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
    • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
    • Tdap vaccination (valid 10 years, declinations accepted)
    • Influenza vaccine (required October-March, exemptions allowed with approval)
    • TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start
    • Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating clear to work without restrictions
  • Background & Screening:
    • Background check within 30 days prior to start (7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, SAM, OIG)
    • Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (excluding marijuana/THC)
    • Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start (Kentucky clinical/allied specialties)
  • Competency & Skills:
    • ARH Skills Checklist within one year prior to start
    • ARH Competency Exam within one year prior to start
    • ARH Core Competencies (HIPAA, Safety, Infection Control, etc.) annual update required
    • EKG and Telemetry exam within one year prior to start
  • References:
    • Two professional references required; one must be a charge nurse or higher, one must be a supervisor reference within the last year
  • Other:
    • Driver’s license required for submission
    • Assignment confirmation form must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance

Additional Notes

  • Candidates should not be submitted to more than one job at a time.
  • Must comply with all credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to start.
  • Annual updates required for many credentials and health documents.

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with required certifications and licensure who are ready for a travel assignment in Kentucky with a 12-week commitment.
