Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology - Travel/Contract

Location: Eureka, California

Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Years of Experience Required: 1 year
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - Technologist level
• License: Pending license not accepted
• Floating: Yes, traveler may need to float between like units
• Block Scheduling: Accommodations possible at manager's discretion
• Locals Accepted: Yes
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

• Scrub Color: Radiology staff wear black scrubs
• Parking: Free parking on first day; assigned parking provided during orientation

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification required for all candidates
• State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington and Oregon)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years

Health & Safety

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination accepted:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • COVID vaccine or declination

Competencies & Skills

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Competency exams required by specialty
• Color Blind Testing may be required on a unit basis

Certifications (Additional as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification (if applicable)

Licensing

• State professional license required (CPDH certificate required for all Respiratory Therapists working in California)
• NURSYS verification required for RNs
• Verification of allied professional licenses as applicable

Training & Modules

• Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:

  • Core modules by profession and region
  • Specialty-specific modules for applicable roles (e.g., ER, L&D, ICU)
  • Annual regulatory requirements
• Epic training modules required for clinical staff

Additional Notes

• Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
• Facility provides radiation badges for applicable units
• Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)
• Employment application required with at least last 5 years of employment history
• Skills checklists required annually for applicable units
