• Unit Size: 31 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Nurse Aide Ratio: 1:10-12
• Common Diagnoses: CHF, strokes, chest pain, diabetes mellitus, pneumonia, COPD, detox, underlying cardiac conditions, cath lab recoveries
• Experience with radial band and femoral cath recoveries preferred
• RNs do not titrate drips
• Common drips used (set rate): Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, octreotide
• Telemetry Monitoring: RNs read telemetry; centralized tele tech support available
• Respiratory Equipment: CPAP/BiPAP (intermittent use only)

Scheduling & Shifts

• Shift Length: 12 hours (5 PM to 5 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating: May float to medical floors or step-down units to care for telemetry-level patients

Orientation

• Unit-specific orientation: 1 twelve-hour shift

Additional Information

• Must have EPIC experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license for submission
• Local candidates living within 20 miles of the facility are accepted
• Scrub Color: Caribbean colored scrubs

This position is suitable for Med Tele RNs with experience in telemetry monitoring, cath lab recoveries, and common cardiac and respiratory conditions, who are comfortable working 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday requirements. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
