Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Vero Beach, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cath Lab
- Start Date: Next applicable orientation date (3-4 weeks out)
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 18 months RN experience before travel assignments required
- 2 years preferred (use 2 years as the required experience)
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes, locals receive same rate
- Pending License Accepted: Yes
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 36 hours for 3x12 shifts
- 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
- Special Requirements:
- On-call requirement evenings & weekends
- Time-sensitive training modules must be prioritized and completed promptly
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital
- Total Staffed Beds: 332

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of I9 or Attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
- Background Check: 7-year criminal check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Florida AHCA Level II Fingerprint Results required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting mandatory)
- State License Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification within 30 days of start (for all RNs)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen plus Nicotine within 1 year of start (no FL Medical Marijuana card accepted)
- Physical Exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID-19: Initial vaccine series or approved medical/religious exemption required
Training & Competency Requirements
- ACLS and BLS certifications required (provider card or RQI acceptable; instructor cards not accepted)
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Pharmacology) administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Core HIPAA and Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- Online Training Modules must be completed by due date (access provided after contract signing)
- NIH Stroke Certification required for applicable units (not specifically Cath Lab)
- Orientation includes time-sensitive modules that must be prioritized and completed before start
Additional Notes
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely will not be approved
- Facility is smoke-free and requires nicotine-free status with testing
- Candidates must be aware of on-call requirements during evenings and weekends
- Locals accepted and paid at the same rate as travelers
- Candidates with pending licenses are accepted
