Nursing Opportunity - Progressive Care Unit
Location: Great Falls, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on a medical/surgical unit.
- Patient populations may include pediatrics, pre/post PCI care, pacemaker patients, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis, and various surgical cases.
- Care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and those requiring short-term ventilation support.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes.
- Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff.
- Provide direct care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.
- Supervise and give directions to RN, LPN, CNA, housekeeping, and dietary staff.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Current Montana RN Licensure
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred
Skills & Experience
- Ability to operate advanced medical equipment including arterial lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support devices.
- Experience with basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation.
- Advanced nursing principles and procedures.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Experience in post-heart catheterization preferred.
- Medication management skills including IV medications such as Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine.
