PICU RN Job Opportunity - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Position Overview
- Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN)
- Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
- Location: Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles required
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of patients during a shift
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 for holding Pediatric or SAC status patients
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols, documenting accordingly
- Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically
- Complete patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards
Contract Length
- Approximately 13 weeks (89 days ≈ 13 weeks)
Required Skills & Experience
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience required
- Minimum of 2 years current experience in a 12+ bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Must be a team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience is a plus
- Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
