Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Boone, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work Schedule: Weekends (Friday - Sunday)
• Patient Care: Must be able to care for postpartum and labor patients
• Required Specialty Experience: 4 years as a Registered Nurse
• Licenses & Certifications Required:

  • North Carolina RN license
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (American Red Cross, AHA, or US Department of Defense)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (may be required depending on unit)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) (preferred for ER)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID carried during hours of service
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
• Background Check:

  • 7-year criminal history check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Must include all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Additional criminal history investigation if background check returns a hit
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• NURSYS Verification (primary source verification for all RNs)
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) or signed HIPAA form for subcontractors
• Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, front facing, plain background)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Initial physical exam, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or titers within 5 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines; shingles vaccine not accepted)
• Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Performance evaluation if worked with the system over 1 year
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
• Self-Study Orientation and Post Test completion required
• Accountability Statements and Personal Data Sheet must be signed and updated after any contract break

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
