Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health

Location: Medford, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Setting: Home Health
  • Shift: 8-hour day shifts (No 4x10 or 3x12 shifts available)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1 (May visit up to 6 patients per day; 30 productivity points standard)
  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of skilled home health experience (highest requirement)
  • First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: No weekends required
  • On-Call: Not required
  • Floating: No floating between units required
  • Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, within 50-75 mile radius
  • Pending License Accepted: Yes
  • Transportation: Traveler must have their own transportation; occasional travel up to 50+ miles
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Primary series plus one booster required
  • Documentation System: EPIC and Oasis (Oasis experience required)
  • Scrub Color: Any color allowed
  • Parking: Free
  • Mileage Reimbursement: IRS standard

Certifications Required

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) - Required
  • Other certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) may be required based on UD (User Data) or clinical track but are not explicitly required for this role.

Experience & Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year of skilled home health nursing experience.
  • Prior travel experience is not required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (primary series + booster).
  • Must have own transportation due to travel radius.
  • Oasis charting experience is mandatory.

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
  • Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator clearance required for travel nurses (annual).
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.

Training & Competencies

  • Must complete required WorkRamp modules for Oregon Home Health RNs prior to start.
  • EPIC training modules required and must be completed within a week of orientation.
  • Medication competency exams and other specialty-specific competencies as applicable.

Additional Notes

  • Facility can call off up to one shift per pay period (every two weeks).
  • No on-call or weekend shifts required.
  • Locals within 50-75 miles are accepted at the same rate.
  • Must comply with all state-specific background and licensing requirements.
  • Must complete all required documentation and training prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Home Health RNs who are ready for a travel assignment in Oregon with a reputable health system, offering day shifts and a manageable patient load with no weekend or on-call requirements.
