Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Dates: 2/15/2026 through 2/28/2026
• Patient Ratios: Not specified
• Floating: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Telemetry: Must be able to pass the telemetry test and have some experience monitoring telemetry patients

Experience & Certifications

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • V Certification
• Skills Required:

  • IV starts
  • General nursing skills including IVs, monitoring, labs, medication administration, patient education
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required

Competencies & Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required prior to start)
• Unit-specific competency exams
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually (with remediation process if failed)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
• Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
• Various facility-specific compliance forms and training, including fraud, waste, and abuse training

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, or TB questionnaire if applicable
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low titer
• Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

References & Documentation

• Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
• Employment application and skills checklist required

Additional Notes

• Must complete fingerprinting with Ohio BCI & FBI using specific codes prior to start
• Facility requires annual review and signing of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with telemetry monitoring, EPIC EMR, and flexible floating within hospital units.
