Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Unit (Adult Geriatrics & Pediatrics)

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving both adult geriatrics and pediatric patients.
• Staffing ratios:

  • Non-COVID patients: typically 4:1, max 5:1
  • COVID patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1
• May assist with flu immunization clinics as needed.
• Expected to attend staff meetings.
• Occasional floating to other departments where qualified, which may include taking patient loads or performing task-oriented duties (e.g., answering call lights, phones).

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts, assigned but must be flexible to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required Certifications

• American Heart Association BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of med-surg nursing experience.
• Minimum 1 year pediatric nursing experience.
• Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients.

Orientation

• Orientation sessions are held on Mondays only.
• Missing the compliance deadline will result in attending the next scheduled orientation.
