Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Anchorage, Alaska

Position Details

• Floating: Yes, within scope to CCU, Flex Unit, SDU, PEDS, PICU, PCU, FBS
• Local Radius Rule: 50 miles (locals not accepted)
• First-timers: Not accepted (prior travel experience implied)
• Pending License: Compact license accepted at time of submittal, but must have Alaska license prior to starting for acute specialties

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: 4 years
• Preferred Experience: PICU, NICU, and Adult ICU experience preferred

Patient Population & Environment

• Respiratory therapy for Level 2 ER/PICU/NICU, Trauma, CCU, Floor Therapy, High Acuity Population
• Special equipment used: Servo U-V60, HFNC
• Documentation system: Cerner

Additional Requirements & Information

• Licensing: Must have Alaska State License prior to start; compact license accepted temporarily with proof of AK application
• Background Checks: Standard background check within 90 days, including SS trace and county searches for last 7 years
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam (renewed annually)
  • Fit mask test (approved facility mask, renewed annually, must be done prior to arrival)
  • Proof of immunizations or titers for: TDAP, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Drug testing (10-panel, within 30 days of start)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccine required (initial series or approved alternatives; medical exemptions accepted with doctor’s letter; no declinations or religious exemptions)
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency exam and general competency exam required
• Facility Specific Documents: Various forms including badge form, confidentiality statement, orientation handbook, and others must be completed prior to start
• References: Two clinical references required
• Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist required

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with at least 4 years of specialty experience, who have prior travel contract experience, and hold all required certifications and licenses. The role involves night shifts with some weekend work and requires flexibility to float to various units within the facility.
