Travel RN Step Down Nurse Opportunity
Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Specialty: RN Step Down

Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: 3South Stepdown Unit
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
- Required Experience: Previous PCU/Stepdown experience required
- Licensure: Kentucky RN or compact license required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification required
- Schedule: 36/48 hours over two-week pay period (may fluctuate with census and call-ins)
- Orientation: Bi-weekly
- Residency: Must reside within 100 miles of the facility
Required Credentials & Certifications
- BLS (AHA only, front and back of certificate if not electronic)
- ACLS (AHA only, front and back of certificate if not electronic)
- NIH Certification (Required for RN specialties except OR and Psych)
- Nursys License Verification (within 30 days of start)
- Kentucky or Compact RN License (updated on extensions, annual update required)
- ARH EKG Exam, Telemetry Exam (unit-specific, within one year prior to start, annual update required)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required prior to start
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, proof of 3 vaccine series, or declination accepted
- Influenza Vaccine: Required October-March; must be administered on or after 8/1 annually
- Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required prior to start
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; declinations accepted
- TB Quantiferon Test: Within one year prior to start, annual update required
- Annual Physical/Health Statement: Signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP; must state clear to work and free of restrictions
Professional Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of specialty experience (PCU/Stepdown)
- 2 professional references required: 1 charge nurse or higher, 1 supervisor reference within the last year
- Background check within 30 days prior to start (7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, SAM, OIG) with annual updates
- Drug screen within 30 days of start, annual update required
- Submission packet including cover page, resume, skills checklist, driver’s license, and license/certification verification in one PDF
- Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start, annual update required
- Signed and dated specialty job description, annual update required
- ARH Core Competencies (HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives) annual update required
- Skills checklist and competency exam specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start, annual update required
- Assignment confirmation form must be uploaded within 24 hours of offer acceptance
