Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Kinston, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shifts: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Call: No call required
• Block Scheduling: Not offered
• Local Travelers: No local travelers within a 50-mile radius allowed
• Unit: Emergency Department (ED) with 34 beds, serving neonates to geriatrics
• Patient Volume: Approximately 100 visits per day
• Electronic Systems: EPIC and Pyxis used
• Support: ED provider team includes MD/PA
• Care Areas: Includes triage, telemetry, and some conscious sedation
• Floating: Expected to float to similar or lower acuity units if needed
• Charge Nurse: Preferred but not required

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ED)
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st time travelers are okay)
• EPIC Experience: Required

Certifications Required

• NIH Stroke Certification (must be current and updated annually)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Orientation

• 24 hours

Additional Requirements and Information

• Must include Return to Office (RTO) in submittal to be honored at time of offer
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and drug screening required
• Health documents required include physical exam (within 1 year), immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), TB testing, flu vaccination during flu season (with exemptions allowed), and COVID vaccination proof if vaccinated
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests may be required as applicable
• Facility-specific training modules must be completed during orientation
• Fit testing required for Respiratory Therapists (RRT), can be completed onsite
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted unless pending standard results)
