Cardiac Cath Lab Tech - Omaha, Nebraska
Position Overview
- Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 8-hour shifts plus call
- Call Requirements:
- 1-2 weeknights per week
- 1 weekend per month
- Rotating holidays
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Floating: Yes, may float to multiple campuses within Omaha area
Required Certifications & Skills
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI or ARRT registered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
- Experience with cath lab procedures including:
- Left heart catheterizations
- Stent placement
- ICD and pacemaker procedures
- Experience with EPIC EMR and Siemens cath lab equipment (Siemens Sensis, Apollo, Phillips IVUS)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of cath lab experience required
- Prior travel experience: Not required but preferred
Job Duties
- Scrubbing to assist MD during procedures
- Monitoring and documentation of cases
- Working primarily with adult inpatient and outpatient populations diagnosed with CAD, AMI, and related cardiac conditions
Work Environment & Policies
- No clinical involvement outside cath lab duties
- One cath lab suite with 1-3 cases per day on average
- Supervisor present in lab during shifts
- Fixed daily schedule; limited self-scheduling for on-call shifts
- Hospital-supplied scrubs; artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
- Must have a valid driver’s license and live within a 50-mile radius of the facility to meet call response requirements
- Orientation includes 1-3 days at each of the three campuses covered by the call team
This position is ideal for a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech with at least 1 year of experience who is comfortable with a structured schedule, call responsibilities, and working across multiple hospital campuses within Omaha. Prior travel experience is a plus but not mandatory.
