Registered Nurse - Hospice (Travel/Contract)

Location: Berea, Ohio

Job Summary

• Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
• Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
• Conduct home visits with periodic office meetings.
• Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
• Types of cases: Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Approximately 4 weekend days per month (schedule created monthly with the team)
• On-Call Requirement: 1-2 weekend days per month and backup on-call 4 weekdays per month (schedule created monthly with the team)
• Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic, averaging 150-200 miles per week between patient homes.
• Local Candidates: Accepted at the same rate.

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Hospice nursing
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 full year of Adult Home Health or Hospice experience (whichever is higher, here 1 year Hospice experience required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• First-Timers: Not accepted; must have recent specialty experience
• Licensure: Must have current license in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
• Certifications Required: CPR and BLS
• EMR Systems: Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) within the last 6 months required; RNs must also be proficient in OASIS
• Dress Code: Scrubs

Additional Information

• Must have reliable transportation, current driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance.
• Productivity expectations: 22-25 weekly units.
• Critical staffing need.
• Some positions may follow a Baylor Shift schedule (4x10s, Friday-Monday), but most are standard 5x8s Monday-Friday.

This position is ideal for experienced hospice RNs comfortable with home visits, travel within a defined territory, and working varied weekend/on-call schedules.
