Job Opportunity: RN PCU/Telemetry – Ohio (Barberton)
Position Details
- Specialty: RN PCU/Telemetry
- Location: Barberton, Ohio
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 7 weeks (interpreted from 7 days as 7 weeks per instructions)
Experience Requirements
- Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2+ years as an RN in PCU/Telemetry
- Additional Experience: Must have Epic electronic health record experience within the last year (must be documented on resume)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Education & Certification Requirements
- Must have an accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE.
- Certifications Required at Submission:
- ACLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable)
- BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) through Apex, Health Stream, or AHA
- Licensure must be verified and current (Nursys verification required within 30 days of start).
Immunization & Health Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)
- COVID-19 Vaccine (fully vaccinated; medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case)
- MMR (Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B (Titer or complete 3-series vaccine; signed declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine (required October-April; medical or religious exemptions with agency approval)
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements; no declinations accepted
- Varicella (Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (within 10 years; optional but recommended)
- Annual TB Questionnaire (Summa form, completed and signed)
- Fit Test for N95 respirators (required for all patient-facing roles; must be current within 1 year)
- Pre-employment physical/Health Statement confirming ability to perform essential job functions
Background & Screening Requirements
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, cocaine, THC, opiates, PCP, benzodiazepines, methadone, MDMA, propoxyphene, oxycodone, 6-acetylmorphine)
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search plus SSN trace, counties, statewide, nationwide, OFAC, FACIS Level 3)
- OIG Exclusion List check within 90 days of start
- EPLS (SAM.gov) check within 90 days of start
- Education verification (third-party)
- Social Security Card or number verification
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Competency & Skills Testing (Required at onboarding)
- Unit-specific competency exam (passing score required; updated annually)
- Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- EKG and Telemetry exams (passing score 80% or higher; updated annually)
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (updated annually)
Additional Notes
- Return to Office (RTO) requests limited to 7 days max; no block scheduling; no RTO allowed during first two weeks of assignment.
- RN Submission Packet checklist required at submission, signed by candidate and agency.
- Candidates must meet all credentialing and immunization requirements to be considered.
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry nurses with recent Epic experience, who meet strict credentialing and immunization standards, and are available for a long-term assignment in Ohio.
