Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Manning, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
- Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and data analysis.
- Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician’s prescribed medical plans.
- Conduct hourly rounds using the 4 P’s (Pain, Position, Personal needs, and Placement of items).
- Foster a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors.
- Use appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
- Care for central lines, chest tubes, Foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and patients at high risk for falls using standard procedures.
- Precept and mentor novice employees to contribute to department performance.
- Participate in hospital-system initiatives promoting Evidence Based Practices.
- Engage in continued professional growth through goal setting and educational offerings.
- Understand and ensure proper storage and safety of medications, including large volume IVs and pre-packaged kits.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (AHA only)
- Nursing License (Nursys verification within 30 days of start)
- Primary Source Verification of License/Certificate (state-specific registry)
- Driver’s License or State ID (valid and up to date)
- Social Security Card (copy required)
Required Health and Immunizations
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 vaccinations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations or titer with lab printout (no declinations accepted)
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): 1st within 1 year, 2nd within 30 days of start; negative Q-Gold or Tspot acceptable if within 90 days prior to start
- Influenza Vaccine: Required September through April (medical/religious exemptions considered with documentation)
Additional Requirements
- Criminal Background Check: Must include county, statewide, national search, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS Trace, and education verification; done within 60 days of start covering last 7 years, updated annually
- Employment Verification: 5 years
- Drug Screen: 10 panel drug screening completed within 30 days of start (rapid drug screen not accepted)
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually
- Resume/Profile Submission: Required for submission
