Job Opportunity: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Position Details

• Specialty: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (Adult Co-Occurring Unit)
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour days and evenings
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
• On-Call: No
• Charge Nurse: May be required to work as charge RN during shifts (no additional pay)
• Locals Accepted: Yes

Experience & Certifications

• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Certifications Required:

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Not required unless requested
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke) as applicable or requested
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Fingerprinting: Must be completed in Maryland prior to start (LiveScan with CJIS/DSS/FBI results)
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required
  • Maryland State Sex Offender Registry and Medicaid Exclusion List checks required
• Education Verification: Required for highest degree obtained
• Drug Testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no positive marijuana allowed)
• Health Requirements:

  • Fit Mask (N95) within 1 year of start (can be completed onsite during orientation)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Annual TB Questionnaire required regardless of TB result
  • Immunizations: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (vaccines or titers required)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct-April)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination form required
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start
• Other Documentation:

  • Photo for badge (clear headshot on white background)
  • Various facility-specific acknowledgements and manuals to be reviewed and completed prior to start

Additional Notes

• Candidates may be required to complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training onsite.
• Candidates must complete all required documentation and clearances prior to or during orientation to avoid removal from the floor.
• Fingerprint results must be cleared before starting unless prior approval for extension is granted.
• Candidates must adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
