Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
- On-Call: No
- Holiday Coverage: Possible holiday shifts required
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- Experience Details:
- Must be able to scrub general cases and circulate all cases including cardiac, vascular, and endovascular
- Scrubbing vascular/general cases highly preferred
- First-Timers: Not preferred
- License Required: South Carolina RN license or Multi-state RN license must be active at contract start
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- Radiation badge (provided by agency)

- Hurricane Season: June through November; travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during this time
Required Documentation & Compliance
Licensure & Background
- South Carolina RN license verification (primary source) required
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs
- Background check within 1 year including:
- SSN Trace
- County and state criminal checks (including outside SC)
- Sex Offender Registry
- National Criminal
- FACIS 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed
- Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
Certifications
- BLS: AHA or ARC only; must be valid beyond 30 days of start
- ACLS: AHA only; required for adult critical care, labor & delivery, cath lab, ER, ICU, interventional radiology (RNs only), PACU, PCU (specific units), pre-op, observation units
- PALS: Required for pediatric units except Peds OR; preferred for Peds OR; not required for adult ER
- TNCC: Required as applicable; not required for ER RNs
- NRP: AHA/AAP only, full eCard with QR code required
- Other Certifications: As applicable based on unit (e.g., chemo for oncology unit)
Competency Exams
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- OR competency exam required; pediatric OR candidates may use regular OR exam if no peds experience
- Color blindness testing required prior to start
Health & Immunizations
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
- Fit test for N95 mask (specific models) within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella: positive titer or vaccination series required; boosters may be needed for low titers
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- Drug screen: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
- COVID vaccine not required but highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Facility Specific Requirements
- Radiation badge required for OR RNs and certain techs; must be obtained before starting floor work
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required before start
- Completion of orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) prior to orientation; must be done on computer/laptop
- Upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into facility system
- Sterile Processing Techs have additional physical and lab requirements
