Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Cases per Day: 5-10
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First Time Travelers: Accepted
- Schedule Requirements:
- Every other weekend and holiday (as applicable)
- On-call up to 3 nights per week (5 PM – 7 AM)
- No block scheduling
- Locals: Accepted
- Unit: Cardiac Interventional Radiology
- Scrubs: Provided by hospital
Licenses & Certifications Required
- New Jersey State License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Teaching Hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
Skills & Procedures
- Scrub and circulate
- Interventional body and neuro procedures
- Endovascular interventions
- Abdominal & pelvic interventions
- Genitourinary interventions
Equipment Experience
- Sterile procedure and equipment setup
- Closure devices
- EKOS system
- Familiarity with GE and Phillips Angio Suites
Charting System
- EPIC: Radiant, Q-site
On-Call & Scheduling
- Maximum 3 nights on-call in a 7-day period (5 PM – 7 AM)
- No block scheduling
Holiday Policy
- Work 1 of the 2 winter holidays
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I9 form
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License required within 48 hours of signing)
- E-Verify clearance
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (including alias and multi-level searches)
- State-specific exclusions list (New Jersey Department of Treasury Exclusions List)
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
- Work history verification (minimum 1 year prior to start, with no gaps over 30 days)
- References: 2 within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
Certifications & Training Requirements
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Interventional Radiology RN and related units
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all RNs and related techs
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Not typically required for this role
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Not typically required for this role
- Chemotherapy Certification: Not required for this role
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Not required for this role
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required if working in adult critical care or stroke units (confirm applicability)
- Pass/Fail Testing: Pharmacology and EKG competency exams required with remediation policy
- Competency Exams: Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG, and general competency exams required within 12 months of start
- Color Blind Testing: Required within 1 year if job tasks require color discrimination
Health & Safety Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
- Physical exam within 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel urine test)
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Fit test for respirator use if applicable (on-site fit testing mandatory)
- Latex allergy questionnaire if job tasks require glove use
- Respiratory medical clearance prior to start (annual update required)
- Immunizations or immunity proof required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
Additional Notes
- Teaching hospital experience is mandatory
