    Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT Adult and NICU)

    Location: Seattle, Washington
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Details

    • Specialty: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Adult and NICU experience required
    • Years of Experience Required: 2 years
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours, Day shift (3x12 DNV)
    • Weekend Requirement: Yes, as needed by unit
    • On-call: No
    • Floating: Yes, within hospital only (no floating to sister hospitals)
    • Block Schedule: Not accommodated unless otherwise stated
    • Locals Accepted: Yes
    • Pending License Accepted: No
    • RTO Restrictions: 1 week max

    Licensure & Certifications

    • National Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
    • State License: Washington State Respiratory license required
    • BLS: Required (AHA only)
    • Additional Certifications:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
      • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (refer to unit job descriptions)

    • Scrub Color: Any (scrubs provided for OR personnel)

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    Background Checks

    • 7-year criminal background check within 45 days of start
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search (NSOPW), and Washington State WATCH search required
    • Education verification required for Med Lab Techs (not applicable here)

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (required by agency)
    • Fit mask test within 9-12 months of start (specific mask models required)
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination required; documentation of vaccine series and serology required
    • Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (history of disease not accepted at this facility)
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination during flu season (Sept-April)
    • COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking

    Drug Testing

    • 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (required by agency, not facility)

    Facility Specific Documents

    • Photo for badge (DMV style, no selfies)
    • Various agreements and checklists required prior to start
    • Completion of UW email setup and learning modules before start
    • Performance evaluation requested at end of assignment (Montlake only)

    Additional Notes

    • Candidates must watch EPIC/Alaris Integration video and complete attestation prior to start
    • Suicide prevention training required for nurses using multi-state licenses (Washington specific)
    • Candidates with facial hair must shave prior to fit testing
    • Candidates may be called off or placed on-call in 4-hour increments during low census periods
    • No guaranteed hours during weekends/holidays if ambulatory or surgical services are closed

    This position is suitable for respiratory therapists with at least 2 years of experience, Washington state licensure, and required certifications, looking for a travel contract in a large, magnet-recognized teaching hospital. First-time travelers are accepted.
