Travel RN Opportunity - Float Pool ICU/IMC
Location: Portland, Maine
Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) / Float Pool ICU & Intermediate Care (IMC)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float pool position requiring flexibility to work across multiple ICU and IMC departments including:
- Neuro ICU
- Surgical/Trauma ICU (SICU)
- Cardiac ICU (CICU)
- Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU)
- Various IMC units
- Patient ratios:
- ICU units: 1:2
- IMC units: 1:3
- Care for basic ICU patients such as sedated, intubated, and patients on pressors. No care for high complexity patients like CRRT.
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently.
- Shift options: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend requirement: 75% weekends
- No call requirements
- EMR system: EPIC
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of ICU experience (higher value between 2 and 3 years)
- Acute care hospital experience required
- Must be willing and able to float to multiple ICU and IMC units as needed
- Strong focus on patient care, team communication, and flexibility with assignments
- Able to potentially take multiple different assignments in the same shift
Additional Information
- Dress code: Scrubs (no specific color), no open-toed shoes, no jeans, no clothing with large logos or profanity
- Patient care involves basic ICU-level acuity, not high complexity interventions
