Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Nuc Med Tech) - Travel/Contract
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Nuclear Medicine)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Days)
- Must be competent in PET and Nuclear Medicine (general nuclear medicine, no cardiac).
- Equipment used: Siemens PET CT, Siemens and Phillips nuclear medicine cameras.
- Rotation includes weeks of on-call for emergency cases.
- Open to first-time travelers.
- No minimum years of experience required.
Required Certifications
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
- PET certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable
- Tech Cert Verification - National as applicable
Experience Requirements
- No minimum specialty years of experience required.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
Uniform
- Scrubs: Royal Blue or Khaki
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- I9 verification
- Driver’s License/State ID
- E-Verify
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start (updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
- HHS/OIG check upon hire
- Education verification (highest level)
- Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain states)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (must renew annually)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire if positive results
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online)
- Competency exams as applicable (minimum 80% passing score or Angoff score)
- Annual unit-specific skills checklist
Additional Notes
- Rotation includes on-call weeks for emergencies.
- Facility welcomes first-time travelers.
- Primary source online verification required for state licenses.
- Clear headshot photo required for badge.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance required.
