Description
Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU
Location: Margate, Florida
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Level III NICU with willingness to float to Adult units
- Beds: 12
- Staffing: 5-8 staff including Director, permanent RRTs (2-3), and per diem help
- Shifts:
- Day: Director, lead RRT, 2-3 RRTs
- Night: On-call team (varies by volume)
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1 or 2:1
- Equipment: High Frequency Ventilator (JET), Oscillator, oxygen cylinders, concentrators, nebulizer, suction machine, CPAP & BiPAP machines
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Licenses: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Certification
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
- Skills:
- Competency with High Frequency Ventilator (JET) and Oscillator
- Ability to float between NICU and Adult units
- Preferred:
- Stroke education and experience
- Previous experience with Meditech EMR system
Job Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care, treatment, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies including asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema
- Work collaboratively with physicians and the healthcare team
- Maintain active disciplinary approach and patient care focus in a fast-paced environment
