Job Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days
• Weekend Requirement: Occasional weekends and possible holiday coverage
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience & Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in Acute Care hospital setting
• Settings Experience: ICU, Step down, Oncology, Medical, Surgical, Neuro/Telemetry, Orthopedics units
• Skills Required: Telephone calls, supported units
• Preferred Experience: ER, ICU, Medical Surgical
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Locals Accepted: No (must be outside 75-mile radius)
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice

Certifications Required

• PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Special Requirements

• Must have experience providing daily treatments (QD treatments)
• Must have 1 year acute hospital experience across multiple units as listed above

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Criminal Background Check (7-year search, statewide and nationwide as applicable)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education Verification of highest related degree
• Professional License Primary Source Verification (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
• Drug Testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Fit Mask testing (N95 required, annual renewal)
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
• Facility-specific documents including HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Regulatory Compliance Education, Hep B Declination, TB Questionnaire, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy, and Orientation Modules
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) results (time sensitive)
• State-specific background checks and exclusions as applicable

Competency & Skills Verification

• Unit-specific competency exams (updated annually)
• Oncology competency exam required for Med Surg-Oncology unit
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable

References & History

• Two professional references required (supervisors within last year preferred)
• Employment application required
• Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start
