Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lansing, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Start Date: ASAP
- On Call: No
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, 3 weekends (Friday-Sunday) per 4-week schedule; may work 1 to all 3 days
- Floating: Yes, may float to Pediatrics
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience (Level I trauma experience required)
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- EPIC charting experience
- Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) with only one holiday off allowed
- Comfortable working with high patient ratios (typically 1:5-6, up to 1:8 during busy times/holidays)
Certifications Required
- Current State Nursing License (Michigan)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) by American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or ATCN as a substitute
- NIH Stroke Certification
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) preferred/required for ER
Preferred Experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration
- Triage experience

Additional Requirements & Notes
- Traveler must submit Return to Office (RTO) documentation at time of submittal; no changes allowed later
- Modules related to the unit will be completed onsite during orientation; some units require pre-start module completion
- Must be willing to work under high patient-to-nurse ratios
- No prior travel experience explicitly required
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID
- Social Security Card
- E-Verify compliance
- Background checks within 30 days of assignment start, including:
- 7-year address history
- Social Security Number Trace
- National Criminal History Search
- National Sex Offender Database Search
- FACIS Level 3 Search
- Education verification
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
- OSHA Respirator Fit Mask form completed at least 1 week prior to start
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start (no medical marijuana cards accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- References: 2 from previous employers
- Resume with 7-year work history
- Skills checklist and competency exams as required by unit
