Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift/Hours: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (06:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Schedule: Includes on-call requirements with approximately 8 weeknights and 4 weekend 24-hour on-call shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Weekends & Holidays: Required as scheduled and part of on-call duties

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Cath Lab Tech)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent and strong cath lab experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers are accepted

Certifications & Competencies

  • Required Certifications:
    • ACLS (AHA only)
    • BLS (AHA only)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Cath Lab Techs)
  • Additional Certifications: May be required depending on unit or specialty (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM)
  • Competency Exams: Must score 80% or higher on applicable competency exams within 1 year of start

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
  • Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (full vaccination required for certain units)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual updates
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination not required for this location, but documentation or declination collected for tracking

Background & Documentation

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Education verification for highest level of education
  • Employment history verification for previous 5 years (attestation accepted if necessary)
  • Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor or charge RN
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • I9 or attestation required prior to start

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Confidentiality agreement and dress code review prior to start
  • Completion of facility-specific documents such as appearance standards, parking, vehicle registration, and agency acknowledgements
  • Unit-specific job description must be signed prior to start
  • OSHA questionnaire required for all candidates
  • Badge photo required (passport/badge style with solid white/beige background)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must be available for on-call shifts including weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Orientation and training requirements may include crisis prevention and Epic system training or test-out options
  • All documentation and compliance requirements must be completed timely to ensure contract start
