Description
Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Position
Location: Lynnwood, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Qualifications
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Washington State
- Minimum 2 years of experience in occupational therapy
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English; additional languages preferred
- Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred but not required
Essential Functions
- Responsible for patient care and supervision of Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and students
- Assess patient needs and initiate appropriate occupational therapy interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to maintain professional standards
- Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness and recommend changes to physicians as needed
- Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy, including Quality Improvement scoring
- Treat adult and geriatric patients in a medical rehabilitation setting
- Assess and manage patient pain to optimize rehabilitation participation
- Ensure patient safety and reduce medical errors during care
- Report patient progress and discharge barriers in team conferences
- Develop and evaluate patient and family teaching plans
- Demonstrate proficiency in occupational therapy modalities
- Respect and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and families
- Safely operate and maintain therapy equipment and department cleanliness
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff
- Participate in patient/family and team conferences
- Maintain flexibility, organization, and professionalism under stress
- Collaborate with other departments for patient care and performance improvement
- Meet documentation standards and update interdisciplinary care plans regularly
- Participate in staff education, orientation, and performance improvement activities
- Ensure accurate and timely patient charge entry
- Participate in infection control, safety, and fire safety programs

- Take accountability and ownership of job responsibilities
