Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Silver City, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12)
• Start Date: ASAP (as soon as compliant)
• Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
• Total Staffed Beds: 25
• Charting System: Meditech (or comparable EMR preferred)
• Scrub Color: Royal blue for RNs
• Parking: Free

Licensure & Certifications

• Current New Mexico or Multi-State Nursing License required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (AHA or RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (AHA or RQI acceptable)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate (for Labor & Delivery)
• Preferred/Additional Certifications:

  • PALS (required for Pediatrics, Surgery, PACU, ER; ICU must obtain within 3 months)
  • TNCC (preferred for ER)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) required for Labor & Delivery
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU and Tele, preferred for ER)

Work Requirements

Background & Compliance

• Fingerprinting required by New Mexico state (done at facility)
• Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable)
• NURSYS verification as applicable

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (Qualivis requirement)
• Fit-tested N95 mask required (specific models accepted)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:

  • Tdap (declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters preferred if low titers)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters preferred if low titers)
• 10-panel drug screen within last 12 months including THC/Marijuana
• Facility conducts a second drug test with alcohol screening at orientation
• Influenza vaccine strongly encouraged; declination accepted with mask requirement during flu season

Documentation & Onboarding

• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually (as applicable)
• Various facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed (e.g., confidentiality, code of conduct, compliance, drug-free workplace)
• Passport-style photo required for badge (no filters, no facial piercings)

Additional Notes

• Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR preferred
• No pending licenses accepted
• First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience not required
