    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Olympia, Washington
    Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
    Unit: Med Surg/Telemetry Float


    Position Details

    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Shifts: 3 or 4 shifts of 12 hours, night shifts
    • Patient Ratios: 1:5 (Days), 1:5 (Nights)
    • Floating: Required; travelers regularly float between like units within skill set
    • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
    • On-call: Not required
    • Block Schedule: Not available
    • Local Travelers: Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility
    • Pending License: Accepted, but quick starts preferred

    Experience & Certifications

    • Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years (Telemetry experience required)
    • Preferred Experience: Charge Nurse experience
    • First-time Travelers: Accepted
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
    • Required Certifications:
      • BCLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Preferred
      • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - Preferred
      • NIH Stroke Certification - Preferred

    Licensure & Compliance

    • Must have a valid Washington RN license or compact license with required demographic attestations
    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no THC/Marijuana)
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Immunizations and health requirements:
      • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Fit mask test required annually (3M 1860, 1860S, 1870+ masks accepted)

    Additional Requirements

    • Must complete Providence-specific WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
      • Core modules for caregivers
      • Specialty-specific modules for float pool and telemetry nursing
      • Basics of Trauma Informed Care module (required at this facility)
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
    • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)

    Important Notes

    • Floating is mandatory; flexibility to work across similar units is required
    • Weekend work every other weekend is mandatory
    • Locals within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract
    • Quick start preferred for pending licenses
    • No block scheduling available at this time

    This position offers an opportunity to work in a well-staffed acute care hospital with a focus on Med Surg and Telemetry nursing, requiring a flexible and experienced RN comfortable with floating and night shifts.
