Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description & Requirements

  • Strong experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
  • Required certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — ER only
  • Skills and clinical competencies:
    • Airway management
    • Management of vented patients
    • Artline management (preferred for ER)
    • Management of dysrhythmias
    • Central line management
    • Management of IV drips
    • Isolation precautions
    • Triage skills (ER/ER Holding only)
    • Computerized documentation
    • Nurse to patient ratios 1:1-2+
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • Interpretation of ABGs (Arterial Blood Gases)
    • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
    • Continuous IV sedation
    • Titration of IV vasopressors
    • Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience in specialty required

  • ACLS (AHA only)
  • PALS (AHA only, ER only)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure, AAP only)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • State License (Primary Source Verification required)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (must be current within 1 year of start)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as required by specialty

Background & Verification Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
  • HHS/OIG check required
  • Education verification matching specialty (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
  • State-specific abuse registry check (KY State Abuse Registry for Home Health specialties)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
  • Fit mask test (annual) with accepted mask types; fit test waiver available for medical/religious reasons
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer, series, or declination required
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
  • Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations not accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccination or medical/religious exemption required; facility-specific exemption form must be completed

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references required (1 reference for non-clinical candidates)
  • Employment application required
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually (not required for non-clinical)
  • Photo for badge (headshot with solid light background)
