Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland


Position Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
  • Hours: Option for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Schedule Requirements:
    • Every other weekend required
    • Holidays required as scheduled
    • Floating required within specialty, sister units, and lower acuity areas as needed

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Manager discretion on accepting first-time travelers (screening applies)
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, required for all acute care RN positions
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Required as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification - Required for certain units; must be updated annually

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • I9 or Attestation
  • Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Background Check: 7-year criminal search within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification for highest level of education
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (updated annually)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella - Positive titer or vaccination proof required
    • Hepatitis B - Positive titer or declination (series not accepted)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests NOT accepted)
  • Flu Vaccine or Medical/Religious exemption required during flu season (10/6-3/31)
  • COVID vaccine not required for this location, but documentation or declination collected for tracking

Competency Exams (as applicable)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Color Blind Testing
  • Competency Exam relevant to profession/specialty
  • Age Specific Competency Exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (exclusions apply)

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Passport/Badge style photo with solid white/beige background
  • Completion of facility-specific learning modules prior to start (unpaid)
  • Vehicle Identification Form (time sensitive, must be completed prior to start)
  • IT Access Forms and Epic Training (including possible Epic Test Out option)
  • Badge Application and Confidentiality Agreement must be completed prior to start
  • Review of Dress Code and other facility policies prior to start
  • Completion of Pyxis Access Request Form after learning modules
  • LifeSafe Info, Parking Map & Policy provided prior to start

References & History

  • Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start (Charge RNs, Supervisors, or Managers acceptable)
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Verification of previous 5 years of employment history (attestation accepted if necessary)

Contract Length

  • 8 weeks

This position offers a night shift travel contract for experienced Registered Nurses with required certifications and compliance documentation. Floating flexibility and weekend/holiday coverage are expected.
