Location: Randallstown, Maryland

Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Patient Population: Patients admitted from the Emergency Department who meet admission criteria
- Experience: No explicit years of experience stated; assume standard RN requirements
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (locals and first timers are welcome)
Required Certifications & Skills
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Preferred
- EOW (End of Watch) - Required
- 4 hours annual CEUs (Continuing Education Units) - Required
- Stroke and Trauma CEUs as applicable (Stroke CEUs must be stroke-related and updated annually; Trauma CEUs required after 27th week of work)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 and E-Verify documentation
- Government-issued Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background Check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- Education Verification and Accreditation Confirmation (Nursing program must be approved by Maryland Board of Nursing if education was outside Maryland)
- State Nursing License verification (Primary Source Verification required)
- NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)
- Physical Exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (with specific documentation if history of positive TB)
- Drug Testing: Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start (excluding Marijuana/THC)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters if negative
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if negative
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Unit-Specific Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam:
- Only Relias or Prophecy exams accepted
- Must be renewed annually
- 3 attempts allowed (2 attempts for some facilities)
- Study guides provided; urgency stressed to pass before starting
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required annually
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for RNs
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (including HIPAA)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Badge Photo for ID badge
- Parking Registration Form completion
- Consent to Release Information form prior to start
- ReadySet Account setup and completion of health assessment surveys before start
- Review and sign Attendance Policy, Floating Policy, and Time and Attendance Policy for Contracted Staff
Additional Notes
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel acute care RNs
- Work History Verification: Required for 2 employers within last 7 years; references from direct supervisors acceptable
- Radiation Badge: Not provided by agency; facility supplies if applicable (for Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab RNs)
This position is suitable for both local and first-time travel nurses. Prior travel experience is not required. The role involves night shifts in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit with patients admitted from the ED. Compliance with all certifications, immunizations, and competency exams is mandatory before and during the assignment.
