Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Friday to Sunday
  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (extremities, abdomen/GI, spine/pelvis, chest/thorax, ER, OR, Level 1 trauma, surgery/C-arm)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (First time travelers accepted)
  • Equipment Used: GE & Siemens imaging equipment
  • Facility Type: Level 1 trauma center with 30+ ORs, 6 ICUs, 70+ bed ER, ~700 inpatient beds

Licensure & Certification Requirements

  • Licenses: Indiana license pending acceptable (ETA 2 weeks)
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • CHEMO (Chemotherapy certification, if applicable)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring, as applicable)
  • Other: State license verification required within 30 days of start

Skills & Competencies

  • Must have experience with trauma and surgical imaging (Level 1 trauma, surgery/C-arm)
  • Unit competency exam required
  • Medication test/pharmacology exam required (not for techs or RRTs)
  • Color blind testing required (Ishihara exam or equivalent)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators)
  • Tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
    • Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
    • Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
    • Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
    • Hepatitis B series, titer or signed declination required
    • Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)

Background & Documentation

  • Valid driver’s license or passport copy required
  • Background check required within 90 days of start (including 7 years of residence/work history, criminal, sex offender, FACIS Level III, education verification)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Official transcript or diploma required (may be pending at start)
  • Education verification required (may be pending at start)
  • Employment application and references required (minimum 2 references from recent employment with supervisory titles)
  • Skills checklist required within 12 months and annually thereafter

Facility & Orientation Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific compliance, confidentiality, and policy forms (time sensitive)
  • Completion of mandatory orientation modules (22 modules for RRT candidates) prior to start
  • Self-study orientation and testing required before start
  • Fast track slide packet and signature forms to be completed promptly
  • HIPAA acknowledgment required

Additional Notes

  • Call-in policy for contracted shifts: missed shifts must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract depending on FTE status
  • Valid auto insurance required only for Hospice specialty (not applicable here)

This position is ideal for radiology professionals with trauma and surgical imaging experience seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center. First-time travelers are welcome.
