Job Opportunity: Nursing Contract in Honakaa, Hawaii

Position Details

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment.
• Required certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Additional certifications requested but not mandatory:

  • NCI (Neuro Critical Care Institute)
  • Procedural Sedation

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Proficient IV skills.
• Familiarity with Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma activations.
• Understanding of core measures and National Patient Safety Goals.
• Familiar with AIDET communication framework and Press Ganey patient customer service standards.

Job Duties & Environment

• Ability to multitask and work independently.
• Use of equipment including:

  • Meditech EMR
  • Life Pack Defibrillators
  • Braun IV pumps
  • Philips Monitoring Systems
  • Motorola Radio Systems
• Floating to other units/departments as needed, limited to areas where clinical skills are applicable.

Schedule

• Variable shifts: 8- or 12-hour shifts.
• Scheduled for 80 hours over a 2-week period.
• One on-call shift per roster.
• At least one weekend off per roster.
• Shift assignments determined by nursing administration upon arrival.

Additional Information

• Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
• Timely arrival is mandatory; do not accept the start date if unable to arrive on time.
