Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Charlotte, North Carolina
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Respiratory Therapist)
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours can be offered
- Call Requirement: On-call as needed; 3 on-call shifts per 6-week period
- Floating: Floating required as needed
- Unit Systems: EPIC
- Unit Orientation: 24 hours
- Scrubs: Not provided; black scrubs required
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and North Carolina license in hand
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy
- Patient Population: Must have experience with neonates and pediatrics
- Preferred Experience: NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Emergency Department experience highly desired
- Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Unit and Job Description
- Respiratory department in a community hospital setting
- Patient care across Emergency Department, Critical Care ICU, and Med/Surgical floors
- Therapies/tests include arterial blood gases, ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) management, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory therapies within the scope of practice
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks within 6 months (including SSN trace, county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search)
- Education verification and transcript/diploma required for highest degree earned
- Drug testing within 6 months (9-panel acceptable)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or proof of past positive TB with documentation)
- Rubeola (Measles) titer or vaccination
- Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella immunizations or titers
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing as per Aya Healthcare standards
- Color blindness test within 1 year
- Physical exam (Aya requirement, not client-specific)
- Various facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, hospital policies acknowledgment, medication safety training, and photo for badge
Additional Notes
- RTO (Return to Office) after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation
- Interview with the hiring manager is required prior to offer
- Candidate must provide a passport-style photo for badge creation after signing contract
- Floating and on-call duties are part of the job requirements
