Description

Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours can be offered
Call Requirement: On-call as needed; 3 on-call shifts per 6-week period
Floating: Floating required as needed
Unit Systems: EPIC
Unit Orientation: 24 hours
Scrubs: Not provided; black scrubs required


Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and North Carolina license in hand
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy
  • Patient Population: Must have experience with neonates and pediatrics
  • Preferred Experience: NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Emergency Department experience highly desired
  • Traveler Experience: First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Unit and Job Details

  • Respiratory department in a community hospital setting
  • Patient care areas include Emergency Department, Critical Care ICU, and Med/Surgical floors
  • Therapies/tests include ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) management, arterial blood gases, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory therapies within the scope of practice
  • Floating to other units as needed

Important Notes

  • RTO (Return to Office) after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite
  • Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit may result in cancellation and Do Not Rehire (DNR) status
  • Interview with the manager is required prior to offer
  • Photo ID and professional appearance required for badge creation (passport-style photo on white background, business attire)
  • Black scrubs required; scrubs not provided

Compliance and Documentation Requirements (Summary)

  • Background checks within 6 months
  • Education verification and transcripts as applicable
  • Drug testing within 6 months
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
    • Hepatitis B status or declination
    • Varicella immunity
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Required facility-specific trainings and acknowledgments (e.g., Medication Safety, Confidentiality Agreement, Hospital Policies)
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as per Aya Healthcare standards
  • Color blindness test within 1 year
  • Physical exam (Aya requirement, not client-specific)
