Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN)

Location: Towson, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift/Hours: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (06:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • On-call: Required (up to 10 weekdays and 3 weekends per contract)
  • Weekends: Required as needed in combination with call requirements
  • Holidays: Required as scheduled
  • Unit: 2 Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid OR
  • Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
  • Procedures Performed: IABP, Rotablator, Shockwave, Structural, PFO, TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman
  • Equipment/Documentation: GE Innova IGS, Phillips, GE MacLab, EPIC, IVUS, FFR

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
  • Years of Experience Required: 1 year (higher value confirmed)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted with strong experience
  • Preferred: Scrub experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications Required

  • Maryland RN State License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • I9 or Attestation
  • Government Issued Photo ID
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Background Check (7-year criminal search within 30 days of start, updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification for highest level of education
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
  • Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, badge photo, and job description acknowledgment
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (3M N95 or equivalent)
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (as applicable)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (updated annually)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination; series not accepted)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Flu Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 6 - Mar 31)
  • COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80%+)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (score 80%+)
  • Age Specific Competency Exam (score 80%+)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (score 80%)

References & Work History

  • Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start (1 must be supervisor/manager, 1 charge RN acceptable)
  • Employment verification for previous 5-7 years required (attestation accepted if necessary)
  • Agency application/resume must be completed within 30 days of start

Additional Notes

  • Local travel accepted at a reduced rate
  • Candidates must be prepared for on-call responsibilities including nights and weekends
  • Candidates must complete facility-specific orientation and training requirements, including Epic training or test-out if eligible

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized Cath Lab environment with advanced cardiac procedures and technology, suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
