Travel RN Opportunity – MICU, Dallas, TX
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Shift Details
- Unit: MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit)
- Shift: Weekend – Rotating
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Call Requirements: None
- Floating: As needed
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years MICU/MSICU experience (highest required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified / not required
- Certifications Required:
- Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses not accepted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- CCRN preferred (not required but preferred)
Skills & Procedures
- Must have experience with ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitor
- Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Procedures performed on unit include:
- Central line placements
- Thoracentesis
- Dialysis catheter placements
- Cardioversions
- Intubations
- Other ICU procedures
Additional Unit Guidelines
- Assignments based on acuity and skills
- Dress Code:
- Royal Blue Scrubs required
- Nails must be clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
- Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
- Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos should be covered whenever possible
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (e.g., nose rings, tongue rings)
This position is ideal for experienced MICU RNs looking for a travel assignment in a high-acuity ICU setting with rotating weekend shifts.
