Travel RN Opportunity - Emergency Department
Location: Brownsville, Texas

- Unit: Emergency Department
- Number of Beds: 22
- Number of Staff: 55
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- EMR System: Meditech
- Typical Shifts:
- Day Shift: Charge RN + 5 RNs + ER Techs
- Night Shift: Charge RN + 6 RNs + ER Techs
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department
- Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- Licenses: Current Registered Nurse License
Skills & Experience
- Strong triage and critical thinking skills
- Trauma and cardiac alert experience, including care of STEMI, stroke, and sepsis patients
- Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Typical Procedures Performed
- IV insertion, medication administration, EKGs, splinting, wound care
- Moderate sedation for procedures such as reductions or cardioversion
- Assisting with intubation, CPR, rapid sequence intubation, and code response
- Care of stroke, STEMI, sepsis, trauma, and behavioral health patients
- Transport preparation and coordination for higher levels of care
- Triage assessment and prioritization based on ESI guidelines
- Isolation and infection control protocols
- Documentation and reassessment in fast-paced environments

- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
- Schedule: 2 weekends per schedule required, no on-call
