Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel/Contract

Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky

Job Description

  • Position in an Acute Care Setting
  • Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
  • Staffing Ratio: 1:1
  • Average Daily Census: 70 patients
  • Patient diagnoses are variable
  • Provider support available from Interpretation Services, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Respiratory Services, Social Services, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy
  • Unit accepts first-time travelers with 3+ years of experience in the field

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (RQI acceptable)
  • Kentucky State License

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Speech-Language Pathology
  • No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned

Immunization & Health Requirements

  • Flu Vaccine is mandatory (no exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination, exemption, or declination required for reporting (will not prevent starting)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 2 months of start, updated annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B immunization or positive titer required (no declinations accepted)
  • Drug screening: Negative 13-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year, updated annually

Background & Compliance Checks

  • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education verification required (official transcript or diploma may be accepted)
  • State-specific searches including Kentucky Caregiver Misconduct Registry
  • Complete employment application including 7-year work history
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations

Additional Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
  • Various facility-specific documents and agreements must be reviewed and signed prior to start
  • Performance evaluations and skills checklists required annually while at the facility

  • This position does not require prior travel experience, but candidates must have at least 3 years of SLP experience.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
