Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Summary
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients within the Labor & Delivery unit. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning and implementing care, monitoring fetal well-being, administering medications, and participating in intrapartum care for patients and newborns during labor, delivery, and surgical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties specific to the Labor & Delivery unit.
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans.
- Implement and modify nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
- Monitor fetal well-being.
- Administer medications specific to obstetric patients.
- Provide patient education tailored to the obstetric population.
- Participate in labor, delivery, and surgical delivery care for mother and newborn.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care.
- Promote patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Engage in professional development and competency fulfillment.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
- ASN degree required; BSN preferred.
- Illinois state RN License in good standing.
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NRP (American Heart Association)
Prior Travel Experience
- Not specified / not required
