Vascular IR Tech (Interventional Radiology Tech)

Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• BLS (Basic Life Support, AHA)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) for RN staff
• AART certification for Radiologic Techs

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of prior Cath Lab or Radiologic Tech experience
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Job Details

• Unit: Interventional Vascular (RN/RT)
• Average cases per day: 4
• Procedures include: TCAR, EVAR, EKOS, AIF, IVC filters, Infusaports, Permacaths, peripheral angiography, venograms, peripheral bypass
• Radiologic Tech duties: Scrub and assist physician, sterile technique required
• EKOS experience preferred but training available
• RN duties: Circulate, sedate, complete documentation
• EMR system: EPIC
• Equipment: Philips Azurion hybrid OR

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Workweek: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (note: description also mentions 4 10-hour shifts, clarify with employer)
• Call: Mandatory for both RN and Rad Techs
• Call frequency: 8-9 nights per 4-week schedule, including one weekend per schedule
• Call hours: Weekday call from 4pm to 7am; weekend call is 24 hours
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Holiday call: Rotational
• Floating: No mandatory floating; extra hours possible on other units if experienced

Orientation & Dress Code

• Orientation: General hospital, nursing, computer training, plus up to 36 hours (1 week) department-specific orientation
• Dress code: Surgical attire provided; lead aprons not provided

This position requires a skilled Vascular IR Tech with at least one year of Cath Lab or Radiologic Tech experience, comfortable with sterile technique and assisting in complex vascular procedures, and able to meet significant on-call demands.
