Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist (Travel)

Location: Salinas, California

Job Description

• Perform mammograms and bone density scans daily under approved policies and Radiation Practice Standards (ACR, MQSA).
• Assist Radiologist with needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram after completing training and competency demonstration.
• Obtain and review patient medical history and physician orders prior to studies; explain procedures to patients and complete documentation.
• Select appropriate technical factors and operate equipment following Radiation Safety Practices.
• Prepare completed mammograms and studies for interpretation promptly, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
• Perform or assist with Quality Assurance activities related to mammography and bone density (including Hologic Selenia and AGFA Printer).
• Report changes in patient condition to Lead Technologist or Radiologist; assist with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
• Assist with scheduling patient exams.
• Attend department meetings and in-services regularly.
• Collaborate closely with Lead Mammography Technologist to meet MQSA standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Current California State License – Mammographic Radiologic Technologist (CRT (R) (M))
• ARRT (M) Certificate (copy of original required)
• BLS/Healthcare Provider certification per American Heart Association standards

Training & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed mammography technologist (preferred)
• Initial 40 hours of training
• 25 supervised exams
• 8 hours modality training in Tomosynthesis
• 8 hours modality training in digital mammography
• Continuing education: 15 CEUs within 36 months
• 200 mammograms performed in the last 24 months
• Bone Density experience preferred
