Description
Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel (Clinical-Allied-Travel)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Overview
- Assist the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to ensure an optimal peri-operative experience.
- Requires knowledge of anatomy, surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and sterile technique.
Required Experience & Skills
- Competency in multiple surgical areas including Otorhinolaryngology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique, surgical procedure orientation, and operation/care of surgical equipment.
- Ability to maintain patient and staff safety standards.
- Must be capable of rapid, accurate reactions and have a strong concern for quality patient care.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills across various personnel levels.
- Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the work schedule, moderate to heavy lifting, and exposure to cuts, burns, infections, biohazardous chemicals, and x-rays.
Education & Certification
- Graduate of an accredited or hospital-approved Surgical Technician program.
- Certification preferred.
- Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional specialty certifications or training may be required depending on the work area.
Experience Requirements
- Experience is fulfilled through the educational process and documented skill checklists maintained individually.
- No explicit years of experience required beyond education and competency documentation.
Prior Travel Experience
- Not specified or required.
This role is suitable for surgical techs with broad competency across multiple specialties who are comfortable in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and hold the necessary certifications.
