Vascular IR RN Position - South Charleston, West Virginia

Job Details

• Specialty: Vascular Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Vascular IR RN)
• Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
• Shift: Five days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Call Requirement:

  • 8-9 nights of on-call per 4-week schedule
  • Includes one weekend of call per schedule
  • Weekday call hours: 4 PM to 7 AM
  • Weekend call: 24-hour call
  • Rotational holiday call
  • Mandatory call/standby for RN and Rad Techs
  • Call response time: 30 minutes

Experience & Certifications

• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of prior Cath Lab or Radiology Tech experience
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
• Preferred: EKOS experience preferred but training available

Unit Information

• Unit: Interventional Vascular - RN/RT
• Number of Suites/Labs: 1
• Average Cases per Day: 4
• Common Procedures/Diagnoses:

  • TCAR, EVAR, EKOS
  • Aortic Iliac Femorals (AIF)
  • IVC filters
  • Infusaports, Permacaths
  • Peripheral angiography, venograms, peripheral bypass

Job Duties

• RNs: Circulate, sedate patients, complete documentation
• Rad Techs: Scrub and assist physicians, sterile technique required

Equipment & EMR

• EPIC EMR system
• Philips Azurion hybrid OR

Orientation & Training

• General hospital orientation
• Nursing orientation
• Department computer training
• Up to 36 hours (1 week) of department-specific orientation

Additional Information

• No floating required; extra hours possible on other units if experienced
• Surgical attire provided; lead aprons not provided
• On-call coverage includes vascular surgeon availability 24/7
